Are you having a tough time picking out a present for a loved one? We all face this dilemma from time to time. No matter how well we know the person, gift giving can become tiring, expensive, and challenging. In order to save money and personalize gift giving, here are some DIY ideas that are affordable and fun.

For Teenage Girls and Women:

  • There are many bath gift sets/products that are sold in stores, but that takes the fun and savings out of creating your own! Bath bombs are very popular right now and a perfect gift for relaxation. To make your own bath bombs, all you need is a muffin tin and some household/supermarket ingredients. There are many different ways to get creative with molds, scents, and colors. Creating your own bath products for someone adds a individual touch and assists you with managing expenses.

  • Another present you can make for someone is a candle. It sounds very simple but there are many ways to turn candles into something crafty. For example, mason jar candles are cost-effective and decorative pieces. Mason jars are inexpensive and can be dressed up with yarn, wire, or paint. In order to design a mason jar candle, this project requires candle wax, waxed candle wicks, and some household objects. These candles are an enjoyable present.

  • An expressive DIY consists of constructing and decorating a jewelry box. This project is very hands on and will allow you to express your friendship/relationship with someone. You could surprise your friend by putting a handwritten note or piece of jewelry inside the box. To complete this gift, you will need some tools and hardware. Designing the jewelry box specifically for your friend/loved one will be unique and special to them.

For Teenage Boys and Men:

  • The appropriate DIY for technology lovers is a handmade iPad/laptop case. These items are very expensive and need to be protected. This is a great way to preserve your friends’ electronics and your bank account simultaneously. As for creating a handmade case, this is also up to personal customization. Many different technology case tutorials and projects only require a few materials like fabric, leather, or yarn.

  • A thoughtful gift idea for a father or working man is a tie, but that can get pricey. Our solution is to make a tie from recycled patterns or old shirts. This project requires some tying and sewing, but it will be worth it when you are able to give your loved one this handmade present. A tie can be a perfect present for any holiday like Christmas, Father’s Day, or a birthday.

  • Lastly, we have gift ideas for the sports lovers. There are all different types of sports fans so we have 30 suggested DIY projects to choose from. These projects range from baseball keychains to sports paper lanterns and only require a few items from home. Whatever the present may be, a sports lover will be happy you took the time and effort to create something they would enjoy.
